Tech Trek New Jersey follows national AAUW guidelines for recruiting campers. New Jersey’s camp is open to girls in counties where AAUW members have volunteered to participate.

In 2016, nominations were accepted from Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, and Passaic Counties.

For our 2017 camp,  nominations were accepted in all 21 counties in NJ, since at least two volunteers were found to interview candidates in each county!

Visit the Volunteers webpage, for volunteer opportunities!

See Calendar & Camp Schedule webpage for detailed schedules

Step 1: AAUW members volunteer to serve on selection teams October-December.
Step 2: AAUW NJ Tech Trek Leadership team contacts teachers of 7th grade girls in the counties where AAUW members have volunteered to select (November-January).
Step 3: Teachers nominate one prospective camper per school by February 9, 2018, using the “Tech Trek NJ 2017 Electronic Student Nomination Form.”

Step 4: Teachers notify their nominee, verify that they will be able to attend (if selected), and asked them to complete a “Tech Trek NJ Student Application” by March 2, 2018. Only students nominated are permitted to submit an application!  Nominees are accepted from all counties in NJ where we have AAUW Selection Committee volunteers.

Step 5: Volunteers on the Student Selection teams review all applications and invite girls for an interview at the nominee’s schools or at public libraries or nearby campus locations. Parents/guardians participate in the interviews with their nominees during mid-March through April 8.

Step 6: Campers notified of acceptance (or waiting list positions) and sent registration information via email (April 17).

Step 7: All campers return core class, permission, and health forms, by the May 12 Meet & Greet.  Camp Address: AAUW NJ Tech Trek Camp c/o Stockton University, 101 Vera King Farris Drive, Galloway NJ 08205.
