Tech Trek New Jersey follows national AAUW guidelines for recruiting campers. New Jersey’s camp is open to girls in counties where AAUW members have volunteered to participate.

Tech Trek 2024 will take place July 21-27 at Stockton University in Galloway, NJ

Premium sponsors AWCO and AAUW New Jersey will invite alumni from prior years’ camps to Saturday workshops, an overnight stay or to welcome new campers on Sunday and volunteer for as much of the week as their schedules allow:

  • 2015-23 Alumni Reunion Saturday July 20-Sunday July 21, and
  • 2024 Dorm Monitor and Day Counselor Volunteers Sunday, July 21-Saturday July 27

Traditional Camp Timeline:
Step 1
: AAUW members volunteer to serve on selection teams October-December.
Step 2: AAUW NJ Tech Trek Leadership team contacts teachers and principals of 7th grade girls in  (November-February).
Step 3: Teachers nominate one prospective camper per school by Deadline extended to February 9, 2024Teachers may only nominate one student per middle school. Please coordinate with colleagues to avoid disappointing duplicate nominees. Only ONE will be considered. Schools who wish to use a SampleNominationForm to narrow down internal choices may download and use the pdf version only for internal selection. 

Step 4: Teachers will see their nominee and family notified immediately via email. Please email AAUWSTEMCAMP@stockton.edu if these notification email messages do not arrive. Teachers should then help families complete the official online Application Form before the deadline closes March 1, 2024. Only students nominated are permitted to submit an official online application.   

Step 5: Volunteers on the Student Selection teams review all applications and invite girls for an interview at the nominee’s schools or at nearby public libraries/community centers or campus locations. Parents/guardians participate in the interviews with their nominees during deadline closes mid-March through April 12.

Step 6: Campers notified of acceptance (or waiting list positions) and sent registration information via email (mid-April). Online registration is due May 3.

Step 7: All campers return core class, permission, and health forms, by the Sunday, May 19 1-3pm Meet & Greet.  Camp Address: AAUW NJ Tech Trek Camp c/o Stockton University School of Education, 101 Vera King Farris Drive, Galloway NJ 08205.
